An all-white kitchen is a blank canvas for color and creativity!

One thing we’ve learned from designing an all-white kitchen is that you don’t necessarily need a jolt of color to add some life to a space. Whether it’s the modern finish of stainless steel appliances or the soft yellow light from vintage Edison bulbs, there are plenty of ways to add character and charm without venturing into a new color palette.

That said, an all-white kitchen is also the ultimate blank canvas: whether you’re into woods or metallics, bright colors or subdued pastels… they’ll all look right at home next to a clean subway tile backsplash and milky white countertops.

As our kitchen is coming together, white bit (cabinets, countertops…) by white bit (Belfast sink, backsplash, coffee / wine bar…), it’s time for us to decide what direction we’ll go for decor once we 86 the mismatched bakeware and plate sets from our apartment days.

White and pistachio palettes lend themselves to a French country theme. Bold reds and blues add energy and zest (and make any dish look instantly gourmet). Wood and glass span the gap between rustic and modern.
